Whilst the fashion is rolling as ever, make up is something I am becoming more and more obsessed with over time. I love those summery evenings when you already have a natural glow sporadic sun rays and more regular trips to the sun. Here are some of my favourite things I’m using at the moment to add a bit of glam to my summer evenings, along with a few of my favourite accessories.
Oil free foundation primer by Laura Mercier | This oil free primer is particularly good for summer evenings as skin tends to be more porous in the heat. This ensures that your foundation will stay on your skin in place and not sweat off within hours of putting it on.
Bronze Goddess Summer Glow eyeshadow palette by Estee Lauder | Right so I’m OBSESSED with this palette of eye shadows. I mean… it’s only up until recently that I gave any facetime to eye shadows in general, now they are the favourite part of my make up routine. I absolutely love the blue shade mixed in with the ombre of bronze, it’s great for darker skin and hair as it’s a complimentary colour chart. A must have palette wonder for those summer evenings.
Chubby Stick by Clinique | An amazing alternative option to have instead of a contouring kit. Literally just draw on your contour lines and blend in over your foundation, then use the other illuminators to highlight cheekbones and brow lines.
Bronze Goddess Illuminator by Estee Lauder | Aside from adding to a full look, this is an amazing handbag trick which is grea to use by itself when you have a natural tan. It’s best for the highlighting regions of the face whilst doubling up as a bronzer too.
High Beam by Benefit | High Beam has stuck by me through and through. It was one of the first bits of expensive makeup I ever used and still to date hangs around the top of my makeup bag all year round.
Noir Couture Volume Waterproof mascara by Givenchy | Waterproof mascara is a must during the summer. I’m really particular about mascara brushes and like to avoid them getting clumpy straight away. This one has three sloping tears to it so allows the mascara to spread quite evenly before drying.
Silver heart beat hand cuff by Rosie Fortescue Jewellery | I absolutely love this cuff, such a great alternative to a bracelet. It’s definitely getting a place in my holiday bag as it’s so easy to throw on and glam up an outfit. Rosie’s new jewellery collection has just been released in Fortnum and Mason and sells online too – I already have my eye on a few more pieces!
Velvet choker by Topshop | One would have thought velvet around the neck is for winter only however I’m obsessed with this and think it’s spot on for summer. It’s £8 and the ultimate piece to throw on with something black or white and off the shoulder, summing up glam summer glam.
I have so much more makeup posts to come and would love to hear what you would like to see on the blog, please comment / email and share your thoughts with me 🙂 !
