Isn’t it weird how to even imagine the winter when it’s summer… or when it’s freezing cold, windy and rainy to imagine calm skies and sunshine? I find this bi annual occurrence baffling every time thus until the sun truly does shine is only when I can get my summer fashion mode on. So here I am and here it is, with the beach bag to go with it.
I know that ruffles have been all the rage for a while now, but when I saw this perfect linen dress from Mango I snapped it up immediately. It’s almost identical (but a red version) to an Isabel Marant Etoile dress that has been lurking on Net-a-Porter for a while. Dresses like these are easy to collect by the dozen and perfect for city prancing from early morning meetings to late night caps at the pub, or ‘bub’ (bar slash pub) the new phrase my friends and I were lolling at recently. I’m still trying to figure out whether I coined this myself or subliminally stole it from somewhere. I love a dress that could see you through a summer party as well as a walk
The straw bag borrowed from the lovely Frances who shot the look and I believe she picked it up from a vintage shop in Brighton (ugh) however these are so available now and customised to a tee if you like from brands like Sophie Anderson, Heidi Klein, and Blooming Dreamer for the perfect Jane Birkin esque basket bag which I’m yet to get my hands on. All in all a perfect element of beach straight to the city streets.
