When I started writing my blog I remember having a distinctive rant about the power of the red lip. I’d have to have a good scroll back to pinpoint it but it was something that I still feel the same about and thats the power of red. I remember when I first discovered youtube videos and watches Lisa Eldridge’s video devoted to red lipstick and how to get the perfect one. She spoke all around the topic of red lips in general and how she loves adding it to the simplest of outfits to make a statement. I hold the same for a perfect red lip in my own personal style.
When I put outfits together in my mind I feel like I’m a really colourful person. When it comes to it overall I’m actually not all that much and do stay around the safety zones of nudes, denims, darks and blues and then leave a little dynamic for a pop of colour – and more often than not it’s the colour red. The contrast of it tends to spruce up most looks and muted style palettes to give it an edge. A few favourites recently are in the form of Tom Ford – where you can find all delicious shades of red.
In this look I have gone ultra feminine moving away from my usual tomboy elements and paying some homage to my inner female. Maybe because it’s wedding season, maybe because it’s the summer… either way I’m seeming more excited at the moment about feminine outfits shapes and colours. All outfit details are below. x
