I took myself to Paris over the course of Paris Fashion Week. The city grows on me more and more on me every visit. Without getting overly cringeworthy I always feel incredibly inspired on a fashion and make-up note. Though it could be because I’m living out of a suitcase whenever I’m there, there is no choice but to whittle down my packing to key and necessary pieces.
It seems to be the Parisian way to invest in a few key items per season and have everything else you own in your wardrobe just fit in around it. This season one of my top-of-the-list investments was for this Isabel Marant Etoile tweed blazer. I’m small (sometimes quite annoying) so as much as I love wearing oversized clothes I have to be careful of looking like a child wearing her mums clothes. So the styling has to be slightly more strategic rather than effortless as it is for the vertically blessed. This usually entails balancing out the look with something quite feminine to counteract the boyish element.
For me an oversized jacket is a staple and the wearing possibilities are great. I’d much rather throw on an oversized blazer over a cocktail dress than a smart fur or shawl. On the contrary I’d rather wear a fur over something more casual like jeans and a t-shirt. I teamed up this look with a little tweed mini skirt from the French brand Sessùn to keep it leggy and feminine. I also wore little flat Isabel Marant boots because I’m all about the comfort when city dwelling. Most of the items are available to buy below or I have attached similar pieces to shop too. x
